Wesley Chapel, FL, September 22, 1998 — Louis B. Mendelsohn, President and Chief Executive Officer, announced today that Market Technologies ranked 27th in the prestigious 1998 Tampa Bay Technology Fast 50 competition, which is a ranking of the region’s 50 fastest growing technology companies, both public and private, out of more than 3,000 technology-related firms in the region, based on percentage growth in revenue over a five-year period. The Tampa Bay region, including the metropolitan areas of Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, Florida is comprised of the seven counties of Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Sarasota on Florida’s west coast. The annual Fast 50 award is sponsored both locally and nationally by the Big Five accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche LLP and is managed by the Tampa Bay Partnership For Regional Economic Development. Other sponsors locally include J&H Marsh & McLennan, the Office for Corporate Development at the University of South Florida, the Maddux Report, and the Florida law firm of Fowler, White, Gillen, Boggs, Villareal and Banker, P.A. Mr. Stuart Rogel, Executive Director of the Tampa Bay Partnership, indicated that Market Technologies’ “company information has already been submitted to the national Technology Fast 500” for consideration by Deloitte & Touche as one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in the United States. Market Technologies is a leading developer of technical analysis software for the financial markets. Founded in 1979, the firm has customers in more than thirty countries worldwide. In 1983 Mr. Mendelsohn pioneered the first commercial trading software to perform system testing and optimization. This capability is now considered the backbone of today’s generation of single-market technical analysis software. In the mid-1980s, recognizing the emerging globalization of the world’s financial markets, Mr. Mendelsohn introduced intermarket analysis software to take into consideration the effects that markets have on each other. Then in 1991 he introduced VantagePoint Intermarket Analysis Software, which utilizes neural networks to discern patterns and relationships between markets. Market Technologies licenses VantagePoint to individual traders and institutional customers. For additional details on VantagePoint, Market Technologies maintains a comprehensive website at www.ProfitTaker.com which is a virtual library of information on technical analysis.
